We use Logz.io as a log aggregator, to bring together all the logs from different cloud services, and as a log explorer and analyzer as once the logs are in the same place it is much easier to review logs, find and investigate problems, and improve the logging of the products.
  • Collect logs in a single place
  • Makes it easy to explore and analyze logs
  • Interface is efficient and user-friendly
  • Although it works in a quite fast way, being even faster would be awesome
It is very helpful when having logs distributed in different products, cloud services, etc; and/or you don't have a tool/way to explore them.
It is not that helpful if your solution already has all the logs in the same place and you have a way to explore them already.
  • Put seggregated logs together
  • Logs exploring functionalities
  • Be capable to efficiently identify problems
  • Efficiently investigate issues and find the root cause
  • Be able to improve the logging of services and products
Although they are very similar in several ways, we find logz.io to be very simple to use making it more suitable for our needs.

We use it as a log management and log centralize collector. We pipe all our cloud application and SaaS platform activity and event logs to logz.io for audit and compliance purpose. Logz.io meet the needs and requirements for logs management for ISO 27001 audit and security risk & compliance.

We use it as a log management and log centralize collector. We pipe all our cloud application and SaaS platform activity and event logs to logz.io for audit and compliance purpose.

Logs are stored in logz.io for investigation and audit purposes. However not all cloud platform is able to pipe their logs over.

  • Centralize log management
  • Reduce man effort for audit logs
  • Meet isms requirements
They offer the same function but logz.io commercial value is lower and can be adopted if company wanted just to meet baseline requirements of iso 27001 security controls.
The basic function for centralize logs management and allow the feature of log collection for easy audit, compliance & investigation requirements.

We currently use Logz.io as our primary logging tool for our applications. This is managed by the engineering department. Our primary use case for these logs is troubleshooting and monitoring of errors our production and test environments.
  • Alerting - Logz.io allows you to set up numerous alerts and define the specific conditions to trigger these alerts, such as the number of occurrences over a specific period of time and severity.
  • Notifications - The supported integrations with Slack and OpsGenie make it easy to set up alerts to specific groups or users, like those in a particular Slack room or OpsGenie group. This is good to reduce noise and limit initial notifications to those who really need to get it.
  • Cost - In our evaluation to compare multiple error monitoring solutions, Logz.io scored lower than all the others we trialed, which I believe has limited us somewhat in potential solutions using the logging data.
  • Retention - The 40-day retention period has been a big disadvantage when trying to investigate incidents that occurred prior to the last 40 days.
Logz.io is an effective solution if your alerting needs are fairly straightforward and you don't need long-term retention of logs with easy access. If being able to maintain easy access to logs longer than this is necessary, another solution might be better. If you need a high degree of precision with alerting triggers and the ability to suppress alerts, you will need to combine Logz.io with an integration to get this or you might consider a different solution.
  • I don't have this information as a user of the product. However, the cost has come up as a drawback compared to other solutions available.
In the past, my team has been able to get in contact with Logz.io quickly and easily to address our questions about the product to see if it could fully meet all our needs. Some of the features we needed at the time were not available, but were on the Logz.io team's roadmap to implement in the future. I found their team to be friendly, professional, and helpful.
I initially struggled trying to ensure the correct data was returned in the Kibana search, but I found it overall easy to use. Some of the UI is not as seamless as I'd expect, like changing the environment completely resets your search criteria and filters, which is annoying since it's a common use case to search something in multiple environments.
Yes
We were using a homegrown system for logging before we switched to Logz.io. We decided to replace it so we could focus our efforts on our primary product's roadmap initiatives without having to support a product along the way that could easily be replaced with an out-of-the-box solution created by those who specialize in that area.

We use Logz.io in the application development department because it works automatically to resolve any failure in the codes of the same, which allows us to have an infrastructure with great support and availability, and helps us focus on improving our applications and leave this great monitoring works to Logz.io. In this way, we are sure that if a failure occurs we will be able to notice instantly and be able to solve it immediately.
  • Emits alerts inmediately if somenthing is out of the ordinary.
  • It performs high-speed monitoring automatically so it does not require configuration.
  • Does not require any maintenance.
  • It has a very simple interface.
  • It offers its users great scalability.
  • Its price can be very high, so you should have good control of it to avoid exaggerated figures.
  • Some functions can be confusing.
  • It has limits to create subaccounts, which is a big problem for large companies.
It is appropriate for companies that focus on developing extremely simple applications. The great visibility it provides makes it ideal to avoid problems that may affect the entire business or company thanks to the fact that it is capable of emitting dozens of alerts in a short time. Sometimes the search behavior becomes slow and inefficient, which can be uncomfortable.

  • It helps us keep up with all the problems we may encounter.
  • Logz.io API helps a lot in debugging automation
  • We can use our set of tools to automatically look for common problems and monitor the current situation and in this way avoid our clients being alerted by some faults generated in the infrastructures of the applications.
Chosen before any other software for its versatility and speed to immediately stop any failure that may impair the operation of our applications, also their prices are very fair and it is very easy to work with it. On the other hand, other software such as FortiSIEM is very slow and its configurations are very complex and require maintenance, which implies more expense.

It is being used throughout our development stack to consolidate logs. We utilize microservices and push all our logs to logz.io.
  • Log Aggregation
  • Debugging Logging
  • Insights into issues happening in your logs
  • Dashboards are tough to get started with without the help of someone from logz.io
  • Understanding how to pin and effectively use the nice little features
It is well suited for grabbing logs from distributed microservices and combining them into one place. It isn't ideal for throwing random junk that is unstructured into it.
  • It has had a positive impact because we can know about and resolve issues with API's before our end users notice.
It is more focused in its approach which makes it really good for aggregating and analyzing logs. It has been way more helpful than New Relic APM for us. Data dog is nice but has some different focuses as well.
